Responsibilities:
- Handle all activities of Legal section and give the organization a highest level of legal protection
- Provide support to ad hoc due diligences of own / third party projects (review of contracts, legal evaluation of contract fulfillment, etc.)
- Support HR section with employment contracts and work / employment regulation compliance
- Stay up-to-date with relevant draft by-laws, policies and legislations and conduct legal research.
- Maintenance of board by-laws, procedures, minutes and resolutions.
- Document management and retention requirements.
- Budget review
- Labor law
- Civil service law
- ICT laws
- International laws (WTO, WIPO, Free Trade Agreements, etc.).
- UAE Federal (e-Legislation, technical standards, etc.)
- Abu Dhabi (e-Legislation, technical standards, etc.)
- Contract management
- Provide support to ad hoc due diligences of own / third party projects. These areas include to advise the whole upper management on its contracts and other transactions with third party vendors.
Skills:
Experience and Domain:
- Minimum 6 years of work experience, at least 3+ years in governmental institutions / related businesses.
- Deep understanding of Abu Dhabi’s regulatory environment (regarding e-legislation, technical standards, procurement, etc.)
- Understanding of international law (WTO, WIPO, Berne, Free Trade Agreements, GCC regional initiatives, etc.) and UAE Federal Law.
- Experience in budgeting and reporting.
- Registered lawyer
Skills/Capabilities:
- Fluent and literate in Arabic and very good English language skills (spoken and written) in both legal and technical domains.
- Further language skills as required (French, etc.)
- Computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
