The Senior Officer reports to the Chief of Operations and is responsible for strategic planning and implementation of all communication activities.

Also is responsible to provide leadership to the department through developing and delivering an effective communications, marketing and public relations strategy to raise the organization’s profile, maintain and enhance its reputation and increase its fund raising ability.

To ensure that the organization’s brand is developed and integrated into all aspects of the organization and that all internal communications effectively support the whole organization.

• Promote programs that enhance the public perception of the organization, interest clients to make business with the organization and encourage donors to contribute to its initiatives.
• Create comprehensive communications strategies and coordinate and develop publications and marketing materials to best market the organization’s external constituencies as well as manage internal communications processes.
• Develop and place local, regional and national news and features, reaching as many outlets as possible on a regular basis.
• Coordinate public relations for school events which may include, but is not limited to photography, production of newsletters, press releases for publication and working with media contacts.
• Provide management and oversight of the organization’s website.
• Maintain the reputation of the organization through overseeing the communications output, ensuring consistently high standards in all aspects of communications across the society.
• Develop and sustain consistent focus on team and individual performance and quality, through the use of the performance management process, including monitoring, review and identification of training and development needs, in line with the organization’s strategic aims.
